Bullying in Autism Prevention Campaign
- A project promoted by APSA and supported by BPI Capacitar 2015 -
APSA – Portuguese Association for Asperger Syndrome is promoting an awareness campaign about the characteristics of people with Asperger Syndrome, an autism spectrum disorder that often can cause bullying.
The campaign goals are:
- To improve the understanding of autism spectrum disorders.
- To improve the management of interpersonal relationships.
- To unleash prevention mechanisms.
- To promote the changes in attitudes and behaviours, for more tolerance and reduction of cases and, consequently, better social integration of people with Asperger Syndrome, considered an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Future Actions:
- APSA is promoting three awareness events in Coimbra (September), Porto (October) and Lisbon (November), designed for healthcare professionals, teachers, people with AS and their parents and families, as well as everyone who may be interested in this topic.
